Welcome to the Meguro History Museum

The Meguro History Museum is a unique resource featuring both artifacts and explanations regarding the history of Meguro City from ancient times to the present day.  Until now the museum has been curated entirely in Japanese.  In an effort to make the history of Meguro more accessible to people of varying language backgrounds, we have created this website.  All of the translation and work for this website was undertaken as part of a Boy Scouts of America Eagle Service Project.  Shane Koslow, a member of Troop 16 Far East Council of the Boy Scouts of America and a bilingual resident of Meguro, initiated the project as part of his Eagle Scout requirements.  After receiving permission from the city, he enlisted the help of approximately 25 people within the community and his troop as well as representatives from the Meguro City Office to complete the work.  We hope that you find this website and the accompanying information regarding the history of our city to be of interest.  If you have questions about how to utilize this website as you tour the facility, please feel free to ask one of the staff or refer to the instructions below.  We hope that you enjoy your visit.
